Care Tips
|
It's prudent to keep your vehicle nice, whether you're a 2-year trader or the person that keeps a vehicle 'til the wheels fall off. May we give you a few tips?
The most important thing to remember during our Midwest winter is to keep your car clean. You need to keep moisture from being held against the sheet metal, particularly in areas like fenders, rear wheelwells and rocker panels, where salt and grit build up. If you are able to hand wash your car, flush these areas very thoroughly.
Unless you have a heated place to hand wash your car, you may need to enlist a commercial car wash for our frozen months. Avoid those few places that still use brushes. The tips of nylon brushes can grow very sharp and damage your car's finish. If they offer an undercarriage wash, take them up on it.
The tips of your snow brush can be sharp, too. Be gentle.
Good visibility is very important for safe winter driving. Be sure you clear your windows and mirrors well. (Of course, be gentle with your scraper, too.)
