What to do after a collision
personal attention and excellence in collision repair

What happens at the scene of the accident is normally dictated by state and local laws. Call authorities if a personal injury is involved, if property damage is above the required amount, or if vehicles are blocking the roadway. If in doubt, make the call.

If you believe your vehicle is unsafe to drive, have it towed to the repair shop of your choice. This can expedite the process of inspection and repair.

Call your insurance agent promptly to initiate the claim process. Each company has its own claim procedure. It's important to remember that there is no law that requires that you get multiple estimates. If you've already chosen your repair shop, tell them about your choice when you first contact them. Don't get an estimate from someone you would not have fix your vehicle.

If the process gets confusing, you can count on your repair shop for advice. We do this stuff all the time. Many times your agent can be an important source of information, too. Don't let frustration with the process force you into making a choice which might not be in your best interest.

Selecting the right shop after your accident is a very important choice. We encourage you to choose wisely.
